Kathmandu — Aarogya Nepal Tech recently had the privilege of showcasing its Praana health device to Hon. Dr. Ojashwee Sherchan, Chairperson of the Education, Health, and Communication Department.
The meeting, arranged through the kind referral of Dr. Om Shanti Rajak, president BPKIHS Alumni Association and Dr. Prabesh Gautam , was a valuable opportunity to present our vision for accessible, technology-enabled healthcare in Nepal. We are deeply grateful for their support in making this dialogue possible.
During the session, we demonstrated the Praana portable health monitor — a single compact device that measures five essential vital signs: blood pressure, ECG, temperature, blood glucose, and oxygen saturation. The device connects seamlessly to the Praana Companion app, allowing heartbeats, trends, and alerts to be tracked in real time by health workers and doctors alike.
The discussion explored how such technology can support primary healthcare in Nepal’s most remote districts — where a health worker can now tell a patient, “The doctor in the city is watching you right now.” We also shared how aggregated, anonymized data can empower evidence-based health decisions at the policy level.
Hon. Dr. Ojashwee Sherchan’s thoughtful questions reflected a genuine interest in exploring the possibility of using such a device in Nepal, and her encouraging response affirmed our belief in the mission ahead. We look forward to continuing the conversation and to working together toward a healthier, more connected Nepal.
