Relief Support Reaches Flood-Affected Families in Rasuwa

When the devastating floods struck the Bhote Koshi region of Rasuwa District, Bagmati Province, the damage was sudden and severe. Homes, roads, and essential services were washed away, and many families were left displaced, with little more than the clothes on their backs.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters, relief support reaching flood-affected families in Rasuwa became a reality. Through a joint effort between Aarogya Tech USA and Aarogya Nepal Tech Pvt. Ltd., essential relief materials have been delivered to communities that needed them most. Our teams are proud to report that the relief support you made possible has now reached the ground.

In this update, we share where the relief reached, what was delivered, and the difference it has made — because transparency matters to us, and your trust matters even more.

Where the Relief Reached

The Bhotekoshi flood cut off entire communities, making some of the hardest-hit areas difficult to access. Our local team worked closely with authorities to identify where the need was greatest, and relief support reaching flood-affected families in Rasuwa was delivered in two key areas:

• Kalika Rural Municipality, Wards 2 and 3 — communities in the Kalikasthan area that were directly affected by the floodwater
• Nilkantha School Holding Center, Uttargaya Rural Municipality — the holding center where displaced families have been taking shelter

Delivering to a formal holding center allowed us to reach displaced families in a coordinated way, while our work in Kalika Rural Municipality ensured that households still in their communities were not forgotten either.

Who Was on the Ground

Relief work succeeds when the right people are in the right place. For this effort, leadership came from both sides of the partnership:

• Mr. Shiva Prasad Paudel personally joined the relief initiative, leading local coordination and distribution on the ground in Nepal
• Dr. Lokendra Thakur, CEO of Aarogya Tech USA, joined the effort as well, traveling to reach affected communities alongside the local team

Having both international leadership and a local team working side by side meant that support raised abroad could be turned into supplies delivered where they were needed most — quickly and with proper coordination.

What Your Support Provided

Every donation, large or small, was converted into practical relief materials for flood-affected families in Rasuwa. These are the essentials families needed immediately after the flood:

• Rice and other food supplies — hunger is always the first need after a disaster
• Kitchen essentials — the ability to cook a proper meal again
• Clothing and children’s clothes — many families lost everything they owned
• Diapers — a small but essential item for families with young children
• Medicines and basic health supplies — care for the sick, the injured, and those with ongoing conditions
• Other daily necessities — the everyday items that restore a sense of normal life

The relief effort was made possible with financial support from Aarogya Tech USA, while local logistics and coordination were provided by Aarogya Nepal Tech Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu. This is the same coordination model we described in our earlier appeal — international support converted into on-the-ground delivery by a team that knows the communities and the terrain.

The Impact: Around 150 Individuals and Families

In total, around 150 individuals and families benefited from this relief support reaching flood-affected families in Rasuwa.

Local government representatives were present throughout the distribution and supported the process, helping to ensure that assistance reached the people who genuinely needed it. This collaboration between community support, humanitarian aid Nepal and the local authorities is central to everything we do — and it is how relief support reaching flood-affected families in Rasuwa gets done fairly and well.
