Flood Relief for Rasuwa, Nepal: An Urgent Humanitarian Appeal
Flood Relief for Rasuwa, Nepal: An Urgent Humanitarian Appeal
Our hearts are deeply saddened by the devastating floods that have struck Rasuwa District, near the Nepal–China border. The water came suddenly, and it damaged homes, roads, villages, and essential infrastructure. Many families are now in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, and we are asking for your help.
In this appeal, we explain what happened, who is affected, what is needed, and how the Rasuwa flood relief Nepal effort is being coordinated with integrity. If you are able to help in any way, we want to make it simple for you to do so.
The Flood Relief for Rasuwa Effort: What Happened
Rasuwa District sits right on the Nepal side of the border with China’s Tibet region. A sudden surge of floodwater came down the Bhotekoshi River and swept through communities along its banks. The water carried away homes, shops, and roads, and damaged the basic services that villages depend on.

For the people who live there, this is not just a news story. It is the loss of the place they called home. It is the loss of their fields, their shops, their safe water, and their way to reach a doctor. It is waking up to find that what took a lifetime to build is gone in a morning.
We are writing because communities in Rasuwa need food, shelter, medicine, and support — and because help from people who care can make a real difference in their lives.
Who Is Affected
The floods have touched nearly everyone living in the affected areas of Rasuwa:
- Local residents who have lost their homes and livelihoods
- Families and children who are now displaced and short of basic necessities
- Elderly people, who are the most vulnerable when homes and medicine are lost
- Visitors and trekkers who were in the area when the flood struck
When a village loses its homes, it loses more than buildings. It loses its sense of safety. Children lose their schools. Families lose their ability to cook a meal or sleep under a roof. Right now, many of these families are facing serious shortages of the most basic things — food, clean water, shelter, and medicine.
That is why this appeal is urgent. Every day that passes without help is another hard day for the people of Rasuwa.
What Is Urgently Needed
The needs on the ground are real and immediate. Based on what communities have told us, and in coordination with local authorities, the following are most urgently needed:
- Food — families who lost their homes and fields have no way to feed themselves
- Shelter — tents and blankets — many people are sleeping outdoors or in damaged buildings
- Medicines and medical assistance — injured people, the sick, and those with ongoing conditions need care
- Clothing and essential supplies — many families lost everything they owned
- Support for displaced families and children — help for those who have nowhere to go
- Emergency transportation and local relief logistics — getting supplies to remote, flooded areas is difficult
- A humanitarian relief coordination team — people on the ground to organise and deliver help fairly
Each of these items may sound simple, but together they can restore a family’s dignity and safety. A blanket means warmth. A meal means strength. A medicine pack can save a life.
How Flood Relief for Rasuwa Is Being Coordinated
We are running this emergency Rasuwa flood relief Nepal program through a joint effort between our international fundraising team and a local coordination and logistics team in Nepal. This structure exists for one simple reason: it helps us raise support globally while delivering help on the ground locally, through people who know the communities and the terrain.
International Fundraising and Support
Our international team, Aarogya Tech USA, is leading the fundraising effort. Under the leadership of its CEO, Dr. Lokendra Thakur, the team is reaching out to family members, friends, professional networks, supporters, organizations, and donors in the United States and internationally.
Their job is to turn goodwill into resources — the funds and materials needed to buy food, shelter, and medicine for Rasuwa.
Local Coordination and Logistics
On the ground in Nepal, the Aarogya Nepal Tech team in Kathmandu is responsible for local coordination and logistics. Under the leadership of Mr. Shiva Prasad Paudel, the team handles:
- Procurement of relief materials
- Transportation and delivery into the affected areas
- Preparation of relief packages
- Coordination with affected communities and local authorities
Local coordination matters because the people running it understand the roads, the risks, and the needs on the ground. They can move quickly and deliver help where it is needed most.
Government Coordination and Distribution
All relief activities are carried out in full coordination with the concerned local government authorities and relevant government agencies. Relief materials are delivered based on identified needs and distributed through designated holding centers, including:
– Uttar Gaupalika Holding Centre
– Kalika Holding Centre
– Individual Victims Who are sheltered at their Relatives’ Home
Where appropriate, relief materials are formally handed over to the local government for distribution to affected families and communities through these centers. In addition to distributing through the holding centers, we are also directly helping individuals in the affected communities, delivering assistance where needs are identified.
We respect and follow all applicable government rules, regulations, procedures, and conditions relating to humanitarian assistance, relief collection, transportation, distribution, and financial accountability.
Transparency and Accountability
We know that when people give to a cause, they want to be sure their contribution is used well. We are committed to that too.
Our Rasuwa flood relief Nepal program is built on transparency — you can see who is involved and how the work is structured. It is built on accountability — every contribution is handled responsibly and every part of the response is documented. We keep proper records of funds, relief materials, and how they are distributed.
Our promise: You give with trust. We spend with care.
Every Contribution Can Make a Difference
We humbly appeal to individuals, families, friends, organizations, businesses, and humanitarian groups in Nepal and around the world to come forward and support the people affected by this disaster.
Your contribution — large or small — can help provide food, shelter, medicine, clothing, and essential supplies to families who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
You do not need to be a large organization to help. A small donation, a box of supplies, a share of this appeal, or a few hours of your time — all of it matters. In times of disaster, humanity comes first. Together, we can bring hope, dignity, and immediate relief to the families of Rasuwa.
On the Ground Now
Aarogya Tech and our sister organization are already on the ground in Nepal, providing immediate relief to affected communities. Working under the leadership of Mr. Shiva Prasad Paudel, our teams are supporting those in need as the situation unfolds.
We remain committed to both immediate assistance and long-term recovery. In the coming days, we will share more details about our ongoing and future relief initiatives. For now, our focus is simple: get help to the people who need it, quickly and fairly.
